Statement for International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition

Last year, we was notified by the International Genetically Engineered Machine commitee that we should not be egligible as a Commerical Team Organizing Entity in the coming three years.  It has been a year since we got the official notification. Since then, we've been upholding steadfastly academic integrity, especially academic equality and honesty. Fully understanding that rigor and innovation sit at the heart of academic research, we will continue to follow this guideline and keep pushing hard to drive biology forward. 

 

Even though we haven't made it back to the competition yet, we've never stopped pursuing academic progress. During our absence, our team has been grinding in academic research and teaching and jumping into academic programs, aiming to build up our academic capabilities. Academic spirits, we believe, are reflected not only in competitions like International Genetically Engineered Machine competition but also in everyday academic exploration and efforts to pursue academic progress. 

 

Following the next two years, we'll keep focusing on academic pursuit and maintain academic passion, in an attempt to get ourselves well-prepared for our International Genetically Engineered Machine comeback. It is our great expectation that we can be back to the great competition in the future and compete with other outstanding teams from all over the world, joining their hands to push synthetic biology to new heights.
